The problem

The developer is the only part of building software anyone quotes you a price for.

You priced this as one hire. What you took on is a system that has to be directed and maintained every month by someone who knows how. Most owners find this out months in, once the work has piled up and progress is well behind plan.

  • Wrong hires look right for monthsUnskilled developers still produce work, give you valid progress updates, and say all the right things. What you realize later is that someone in motion does not necessarily mean progress is being made. By then it is a few months in, you have been spinning your wheels, and the delays are becoming more and more apparent.
  • Getting a developer productive is its own projectNew hires, skilled or unskilled, take about three months of onboarding to get familiar with the business, the customers, and the environment. For unskilled developers it is much longer, since they also have to learn the code and whatever technical ground they do not already know.
  • Directing the work is a full jobEven a strong developer needs the work broken down, the output reviewed, an escalation path when they are stuck, and a standard to hold the code to. Without it, the good ones slow down while the weak ones go quiet. Supplying it lands on the owner, though scoping technical work is itself a technical skill.
  • Progress you have no way to judgeYou are probably moving. What you cannot tell is whether you are moving at the speed your plan assumed. Every explanation you get for a slip will be technical and plausible. You have no way to price it. By the time you are certain, you have spent the year.
  • Your product gets harder to change every yearEvery shortcut taken to hit a date stays in the code, where it makes the next change cost a little more. Developers call this technical debt. Early features ship quickly because there is not much in the way yet; later ones of the same size take far longer, and from your seat nothing looks different.

Every one of these happens to owners who did the reasonable thing at each step. You may already have tried a hire, an agency, or a freelancer. What it left behind is a product you still cannot staff, and less appetite to try again.

The same thing happens with process. You bring in better tools or a better way of working, your team agrees it is better, and six months later nothing has changed. A team carrying a full workload does not have the room to change how it works.

What you get

One price covers a team’s worth of roles.

Everything below is included. There is no setup fee and no hourly billing.

Dedicated Developer

Hired specifically for your project and working only on your roadmap. Full-time, on one client’s work.

Fractional CTO

Technical direction on what gets built and how, and on what you should be saying no to. Your developer reports to them, so the technical management is theirs rather than yours.

Project Management

You say what matters to the business. We turn that into scoped, sequenced work and track it through to done.

Product and UX Input

The layout and flow calls that would otherwise sit in your queue waiting on a designer, made by someone who has shipped software people use.

Senior Setup Team

Before your developer starts, our senior engineers get everything set up and start on your work. You have progress and a written read on your software in your first month, at no extra cost.

AI Development Methodology

Everyone wants AI and everyone uses it, but not everyone uses it professionally. We have an opinionated methodology that we use ourselves, and we set it up in your codebase: our AI prompts and our AI infrastructure. We intentionally add human gates to raise quality. Anyone can vibe code; our process is built for production standards, which vibe coding does not meet.

Engineering Culture

The hidden cost. It seems unimportant, but it makes all the difference: engineering culture is what sets the standards of a codebase. Your developer works inside ours.

Report

What shipped, what is next, and what is at risk. Every two weeks.

How it works

What happens after you sign.

  1. We talk about your product

A call about what you are building and where it is stuck. We work out the strategy with you and put the highest-impact work first.

  2. Our engineering staff sets your workspace up

Our own engineers get everything set up and start working your roadmap, so the work begins without delay while we hire.

  3. We hire your developer, and our engineers cover until we do

We only hire engineers we would put on our own products, so this takes as long as it takes. We keep engineers on internal work specifically so there is always someone free to hold a new client’s seat. When your developer starts, our developers begin training them immediately to get them running.

  4. Your developer builds, under our direction

They work your roadmap the way we work, with the product and project people the work needs. If you already have a system, we can work inside it. Our CTO is responsible for every technical decision. Every two weeks you get a written status update and a session to walk through it, and you never have to read code.

  5. You decide each month whether to keep going

No renewal conversation, no exit fee. You are free to scale up or down how you see fit. Just give us 30 days’ notice and we will make it work for you.

AI development

Our review happens before the code exists.

AI now produces code faster than any team can read it. The mistakes that cost the most are made before a line is written, and that is where our people spend their time.

Hierarchy of leverage

Boomer CodingThe old way of development. Whether writing code manually or using AI through a back and forth session

  1. 1 bad line of Code = 1 bad line of code

  2. 1 bad line of Plan = 10 to 100 bad lines of codeWrong solution

  3. 1 bad line of Research = 1,000+ bad lines of codeMisunderstanding the system

  4. 1 bad line of Specification = 10,000+ bad lines of codeWrong problem

  5. 1 bad line of Standing instructions = 100,000+ bad lines of codeCore infrastructure

The Elite WayThe higher the lever, the faster you go. This is where one developer starts outrunning a whole team.

Using AI is not the edge, it’s proper context management that lets the agent know your codebase, so you don’t spend time fighting what it’s generating.

Month One

The first month, we go through your codebase and tell you what needs fixing first. Then we set the AI up inside it, so it understands your code before it touches anything and your developer isn’t fighting the output. We’ll help figure out where in the system requires tweaking so that code output is reliable. Then lastly ensure your codebase in a healthy spot in order to really turn up the heat on implementation

Who runs it

Our CTOs.

Two CTOs run HypePilot, and your project gets direction at that level.

Isaac Duran is the CTO of Advanced POS and of HypePilot. He runs both teams on this exact framework and still writes code himself. Advanced POS is a point-of-sale software company running live payments. HypePilot is where our own internal projects are built. LinkedIn.

Hector Calderon co-owns HypePilot and is the CTO of Metacerius, the client below. LinkedIn.

Proof

Four companies already run this way.

We did not build a service and go looking for someone to sell it to. We built it to run our own products, and it runs them.

Metacerius

A DevOps company with multiple teams working across multiple workspaces.

We ran their team through the Viable Coding bootcamp, set up multiple workspaces with our AI development methodology, and reworked their whole AI setup for both Cursor and Claude Code.

Advanced POS

Our CTO runs the engineering team here with the same AI methodology, on a more advanced development pipeline that keeps the project manager, UI/UX, and developers constantly communicating. Advanced POS currently writes close to no code by hand and generates all of it.

Advanced POS is a point of sale built and designed around high-volume bars. The environment is more demanding because of PCI DSS compliance. Dealing with compliance while trying to develop can get overwhelming, and the process we laid out has tamed the chaos: the tedious workflows that keep a highly secure environment running are used every week.

HypePilot

Everything we sell, we run. Our own operations, reporting and delivery run on the same methodology we set up in your software. We have also built no-code solutions and a custom CRM for Metacerius.

LiveShift

Our own A/B testing product, built start to finish by one developer working the way your developer will.

Most A/B tools test one change at a time. LiveShift runs several experiments on a single campaign at once and updates in real time as results come in. It connects your published content, your analytics, and an automated research loop, so going from an idea to a measured answer is repeatable.

Why month-to-month

A twelve-month contract asks you to trust a company before it has earned anything.

Most alternatives want a year, or at least a minimum term.

This agreement has neither. Leave with 30 days’ written notice, any time, for any reason.

No minimum term and no cancellation fee. 30 days’ notice, that’s all.

Your risk is one month.

Software makes people optimistic. A plan runs long, then longer, and by the time it is clearly not working you have already spent enough that stopping feels like throwing it away. So most people keep paying, and that is where the real cost of software comes from.

You pay for a month, we work that month, and you decide whether there is another one. Part of what you are paying for is a straight answer about whether this is working. A developer you hired on your own will tell you it is almost there, and keep telling you that for a year. We will tell you in the first month.

Whatever we set up in your software is yours either way.

If the developer isn’t right, tell us and we replace them

You do not have to justify it or sit through a performance process. We keep replacing until you have someone you want to keep. Finding them, screening them and eating the cost of a wrong one is our job, not yours.

Fit

Whether this fits what you’re building.

A good fit if…

  • You have a software product or platform that matters to your business.
  • You’re not technical, or you are technical and out of hours.
  • The work is ongoing, not a one-off project with a hard end.
  • You’ve been burned before and want a way in that doesn’t require faith.

Not a fit if…

  • You need a fixed price on a fixed feature list by a fixed date.
  • You need a design team, marketing, or a full product org rather than development capacity.
  • You already have solid technical leadership and just need hands, so you’d be paying twice for it.

The bootcamp

Viable Coding: the way we build with AI, taught to your team.

A separate service

You can buy the bootcamp on its own, without hiring a developer from us. It is for companies that already have a team and want them building the way we do.

If you decide you want us to do the building too, it comes with every developer, already done.

Building software has changed. AI now does most of the writing, and the job of a developer has moved to deciding what to build, checking what comes back, and explaining it. We have a workflow for working that way. We run our own companies on it, and in two sessions we teach it to your team, on your own software.

  1. The presentation

We walk your whole team through how development changed, how we arrived at our workflow, and how it works, step by step. Everyone who touches the software sits in on this one, developers or not.

  2. The setup

We put our tools and prompts into your software, along with a written read on where it stands and what to fix first. Your team reviews it before it goes in.

  3. Pairing

Your team uses it on real work for a week. Then we sit with your developers and work one of their own tickets through the workflow, so they see it done on their code.

  4. Questions

Time for your team to ask anything about the workflow, and a written read from us afterward on where they are and what to work on next.

$3,000, one time. Nothing to cancel and nothing to renew. Everything we put in stays with you.
